Meet Brian Aft

Brian Alt is a Purple Heart recipient. Corporal Brian Aft joined the U.S. Marine Corps in May 2007. On April 11, 2011, Brian was on routine foot patrol in Kajaki, Helmand Province, Afghanistan with his bomb dog, Buckshot. While jumping over an irrigation ditch, Brian activated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) pressure plate causing an explosion that led to the amputation of both of his legs leaving him wheelchair bound. Buckshot survived and was reunited with Brian, living to be about 15 years old. In August 2013, Brian retired from the US Marine Corps.  Brian struggled to cope with the demons and the pain of his injury until one day, he decided, “No More!” and he changed his life. Brian is now active in the Veteran community, has been a participant at the Adaptive Training Foundation, demonstrating an enthusiasm and love for life. He recently started his canine boarding business. K9 Ventures. This SUV will accommodate his wheelchair as well as dog kennels and other support equipment for his business.
