Brian Aft Receives Vehicle at NABC Lone Star Golf Fundraiser
On April 7, 2026, the NABC Lone Star Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser presented by Enterprise took place at Bear Creek Golf Course, where five deserving Texas veterans were honored with vehicle gifts prior to the start of the tournament. This year marked a special milestone, as it was the largest vehicle gifting ever held at an NABC golf event.
Among the recipients was U.S. Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Corporal Brian Aft.
Brian joined the Marine Corps in May 2007 and was deployed to Afghanistan. On April 11, 2011, while on a routine patrol in Kajaki, Helmand Province with his bomb dog, Buckshot, Brian triggered an IED that resulted in the loss of both of his legs. After retiring in 2013, Brian faced both physical and mental challenges, but made the decision to take control of his life and move forward with purpose.
Today, Brian is active in the veteran community, participates in programs like the Adaptive Training Foundation, and launched his own canine boarding business, K9 Ventures.
During the event, Brian was presented with a fully restored and modified 2020 Ford Explorer. The vehicle was donated by Allstate and repaired by Solution Works, with adaptive modifications funded by the Freedom Mobility Foundation and completed by MobilityWorks. These modifications will allow Brian to safely transport his wheelchair, as well as kennels and equipment for his growing business.
This collaboration highlights the impact of organizations coming together to support veterans not just with transportation, but with independence and opportunity.
Brian’s story is one of resilience, determination, and finding a new path forward. This vehicle represents more than just mobility, it represents continued growth, freedom, and the ability to keep building the life he has worked so hard for.
We’re excited to keep it going with two more vehicle giveaways coming up very soon for Pedro Perez and Natalie Vines!
